On Wednesday 30th July 2025, Get It Done and Southwark Council were delighted to launch three landmark new murals along Rye Lane in Peckham.

Created by three local artists in collaboration with over 20 community groups, the murals celebrate the cultural, historical and social fabric of the area through food, music and stories of resistance.
The celebration began with a guided mural walk, hearing directly from our three artists — Valeria Salinas Toro, Regan Gilflin and Nina Grazette — as they shared insight into their creative process, the challenges they faced, and what it meant to make public art in the area they call home.
After the tour, we were generously hosted by Peckham Levels for some reflections from Southwark Council, joined by Cllr Portia Mwangangye and Cllr James McAsh, and Mimi Dearing, director of Get It Done.
The event was a huge success, with over 100 attendees, including friends, residents, local communities, organisations and passersby alike.
The installation of the murals marks the culmination of a year-long project led by Get It Done, whose participatory approach to public art focuses on embedding local voices into the design process; using creativity not just as temporary beautification, but to build relationships, surface overlooked stories, and make local decision-making more inclusive.
We will be sharing more of the murals themselves on our social media in the coming weeks. We will also be sharing a video made by Peckham-based production company Making Numbers shortly.
