We're welcoming Rongwei Nie, supporting our upcoming international exchange project We Gather Here Because We Must.

Rongwei is currently an MA student in Creative and Cultural Industries at the University of Manchester, and as part of her programme she has joined Get It Done for a four-month internship in the coming year.
Rongwei will be supporting the delivery of We Gather Here Because We Must, supporting our Greater Manchester based artists and assisting with project coordination and climate, public space and artistic research. She will be sharing our learnings from the project online, and contributing to our final zine publication in Spring.
Learning from and contributing to a community art organisation has always been my dream because I want to share my knowledge with this community and learn more from this exciting field. To me, art is one of the most meaningful bridges for communication, transcending boundaries and fostering understanding, so I’m incredibly excited to build interesting connections here!
We Gather Here Because We Must is an international artist exchange and residency between Get It Done (Manchester) and Aks Creative Hub (Ankara), and supported by the British Council’s Connections Through Culture Programme. The programme will pair four emerging artists from Türkiye and the UK to explore how simple, playful and low-cost creative interventions can activate public space for climate awareness, resilience and connection.
We are greatly looking forward to working with Rongwei over the coming months! You can follow the project along on our Instagram here.
