We're excited to welcome On On Yu to the team, working on our partner project What's an Arts Festival Anyways? with Didsbury Arts Festival!

On On is currently studying MA Arts Management at the University of Manchester, and as part of her programme she has joined Get It Done for a six-month internship.
Building on her existing skills, having previously worked in the film industry in Hong Kong, over the next few months On On will develop skills in fundraising, building corporate sponsorships and community engagement. In the future, she hopes to have her own creative space in Hong Kong, so this will be valuable knowledge in managing a sustainable and successful creative business.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to work with Get It Done in supporting fundraising and partnerships for the Didsbury Arts Festival. I have always believed that hidden stories are happening within different communities, and art serves as a powerful medium to resonate with people, connect them, and even spark positive changes. Therefore, I am looking forward to engaging with various community groups and organisations, and building meaningful relationships with them. Through this project, I aim to contribute to the development of effective fundraising strategies and support DAF in providing diverse and inclusive cultural experiences that embrace creativity for everyone in Didsbury and beyond."
What's an Arts Festival Anyways? seeks to transform Didsbury Arts Festival into a platform celebrating and amplifying inclusive contemporary arts practices in Didsbury and the neighbouring communities.
Through inclusive programming and active community engagement, we aim to expand ownership of the festival; reflecting diverse local voices and fostering meaningful connections between artists, audiences, and local residents.
We are currently working with local groups in Burnage, Old Moat and Merseybank, and looking to put together a bid for the next iteration of the festival in the coming months. More information here.
