Making Great Communities Incubator

Education.
Get It Done was invited to co-design and deliver the Making Great Communities Incubator programme at Manchester Metropolitan University.
The programme aimed to support students across all departments of the university in developing social impact projects to benefit their communities. Running from February to May 2024, each week focused on a different aspect of project development, using radical applied learning techniques to help students explore their projects in creative and imaginative ways.
Our hands-on course started with self-discovery and building confidence in your purpose, moving onto essential topics such as project planning, relationship building, community project management and clearly communicating your ideas - all designed to get students ready to pitch for up to £10,000 in funding from MMU in May.
After the end of the intensive course, in April our director, Mimi Dearing, along with some incredible other mentors Oladamola Babalola, Audrey Albert and Laura Negus, will provide personalised mentoring to support students piloting their ideas and managing their business and project ideas going forward.
The programme was a joy to deliver, and feedback from the intensive learning half has been overwhelmingly positive, read some of our testimonials below. We can't wait to see the impactful projects that emerge!
