Get It Done is excited to share the artist who will be joining us for our On It Residency programme; a four week studio residency based at our Shaftesbury Avenue studio, supported by Bow Arts.

Lucía is an Argentinian artist based in London, trained in costume design and textile techniques, and working across sculpture, video and writing. Her work addresses narratives around migration, gender and ecology through a textile lens.
Having previously worked in Croydon (Turf Projects) and Barcelona (MACBA, Fabra i Coats), last year Lucía developed and coordinated a new project called Diario Textil as part of her social practice, working with latinx communities at The Latin American House in Kilburn.
As part of the On It Residency, Lucía will invite latinx communities across London to produce a large-scale textiles woven piece, using the studio space to host workshops and create a bigger hand loom. Her workshops will offer a safe space to share migrant narratives from the latinx diaspora while improving manual skills using repurposed materials, weaving in lap looms and embroidering. Lucía sees this residency as an opportunity to expand her engagement and participation across London and develop professional project management skills.
Diario Textil will culminate in an exhibition and open workshop from 7-9th March 2025.

The Residency
In our first self-initiated programme, Get It Done offered a four week residency for an early-careers creative to join us at our Shaftesbury Avenue studio, supported by Bow Arts. The residency sought someone that was keen to turn their bold ideas into action, tackling issues in their local area through a socially engaged creative project.
Lucía will get 24/7 access to our central London studio space, resources and mentoring to deliver her creative project, plus a small material budget. We look forward to updating you soon on our Instagram!
